Morgana Systems, a Plockmatic International company, will give a worldwide debut to the Morgana BM4000 Series of bookletmakers at the 2022 edition of The Print Show, on stand A07. Heralded as a new kind of bookletmaker, these products can produce both A4 landscape and 297 x 297mm booklets, and offer either corner or edge stapling as standard, plus the option of the unique SquareBack finish.
The new Morgana BM4000 Series can staple and fold booklets of up to 35 sheets (BM4035) or 50 sheets (BM4050). From A6 size booklets up to A4 landscape, and the 297 x 297mm format, the BM4000 is a versatile booklet maker designed to work with low- to mid-volume digital production printers. It delivers booklets of exceptional quality, and the ability to feed long printed sheets means that it can produce a wide variety of work, including A4 landscape photo booklets – a product that is becoming increasingly popular.
Users can produce corner stapled documents in A4 portrait, and edge stapled documents in either portrait or landscape A4, along with regular spine stapling. Booklets can be produced consisting of up to 140 pages (BM4035) or 200 pages (BM4050). The system supports printed sheets of up to 660mm long sheets (without the CST creasing and side slitting module) or 620mm (with CST).
Among its usual wide range of post-press equipment exhibits, Morgana Systems will also show its recent introduction, the AeroDieCut. Best described as traditional meets digital, this product uses regular cutting and creasing forms, combined with a patented system of “moving press rollers” that provide the pressure necessary to cut through and score the substrate, all housed in a really compact unit.
The product represents the platen-style die-cutter re-designed for the 21st Century. The AeroDieCut is ideal for short-to-medium-run work, and can process complex cuts, creases, embossing or debossing, and perforations on printed materials in a single pass.
Using traditional die-cutting formes means plenty of external suppliers are available to create the cutting element itself – and, as this a mature technology, a competitive price can be almost guaranteed. Add to this the AeroDieCut’s ability to produce step-and-repeat work, where just one cutting forme can be employed to step across a printed sheet up to five times, and the economies become swiftly apparent. AeroDieCut is also a much safer machine to use than the traditional platen style of product – a good number of which are still hand fed devices.
Another key feature offered with the AeroDieCut is the ability to produce both embossing and debossing work. These features allow the printer to offer customers something slightly different and classy to embellish their printed work, and something that definitely stands out from the everyday, run-of-the-mill printing.
Other products that will be shown on the Morgana stand include the recently launched AutoCreaser and DigiFold Pro XL units, and the introduction of the latest 50cm AutoCreaser – the Pro XW. There will also be bookletmakers from the BM5000 and PowerSquare ranges, including the PowerSquare 224 with VFX feeder and Barcode reading. Another UK launch will see the Valiani Integra flatbed cutting table, including routing capability.
