ICSM’s Free Micro Debt Recovery Service – An IPIA Member Benefit

As part of your IPIA membership, you have access to the services provided by ICSM Associates. 

Founded by Ian Carrotte in the 1980s the subscription credit circle for the print and allied industries helps its members to keep abreast of bad news in the industry. Covering all forms of business, members report of companies in trouble who are not paying their invoices on time – alerting fellow members of problems.

ICSM recover written off debts

Clients have benefited to the tune of thousands of pounds from ICSM’s free Micro Debt Recovery Service. Aimed at recovering written off invoices the service chases up amounts from a few pounds to several thousand. In the first pilot phase of the service, some 56 bad debts were recovered for ICSM clients, ranging in value from £36 to £1,712: a total of £18,000. Micro Debt Recovery is not a debt collection service but a system of legal letters and reminders that prompt reluctant debtors to pay up and has been used extensively by printing firms.

Millions owed by retail failures

From couriers to hauliers and from printers to sign-makers many firms are left with unpaid invoices and potential cash flow problems of their own when customers go bust.
