RISING TO THE CHALLENGE

Finding opportunities to grow and thrive

Thursday 31st August, The Manufacturing Technology Centre, Coventry

IPIA AUTUMN CONFERENCE 2023

Why should you attend?

Inspirational and educational speakers will combine with amazing networking opportunities, a mini-expo, as well as top class food and refreshments. The day will then be topped off with networking drinks – a chance to make further new business connections and unwind. All of this is covered by one ticket price.

Supported by an amazing array of industry technology developers and suppliers, the conference will also feature an Expo and Networking Hub – where delegates can learn about wider sector trends and advances, while building relationships with new business prospects.

Critically, attendees will be able to find new opportunities to help grow their business and provided with direction to help it thrive in the long-term.

Insights into growth opportunities and how to seize them

The theme for this year’s event encapsulates an issue that is at the very top of business leader’s mind’s across the UK print industry: with so many obstacles to growth present in the market (ever-rising running costs, the legacy of significant market disruption, unstable demand and rapidly changing routes to market), how can I grow my business?

Rising to the Challenge will provide attendees with insights from print-service-providers and entrepreneurs that are successfully negotiating these hurdles – and which have not just identified growth opportunities – but are actively and successfully exploiting them.

Simon Cooper – Solopress

The powerful blend of a trusting culture and data insights

Whilst Simon has spent the last 4.5 years running £36m turnover Solopress, during his career he’s set up a business from scratch as a one man band, as well as worked within the largest Ecommerce print organisation in the world (Cimpress).

As such Simon’s insights and experience are relatable to people and businesses of all shapes and sizes and he will share with the audience the key cornerstones he believes are vital in creating a growing and profitable business.

When it comes to leadership there are two fundamental styles, command and control or trust and empowerment. Simon has experienced both during the course of his career, but has adopted the latter to great effect. What are the key tenets of this style? Why is it so powerful and can it be effective for everyone?

Having the insights necessary to truly understand where energy should be focussed in order to drive businesses towards their objectives is critical. Solopress have built a data warehouse to enable all of these insights, and Simon spends his time working with the team to improve performance in all areas. He will share openly the visualisation and understanding the data gives him over the business and key decisions that have emanated from this analysis.
