As part of their ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility, Derbyshire based Citipost Mail are now an accredited Carbon Neutral business.
This achievement reflects their dedication to minimising their environmental impact and taking decisive action to address the challenges of climate change. Deputy Managing Director Lesley Yeomans explains, ‘We recognise the urgent need to protect our planet for future generations, and becoming Carbon Neutral is a critical step towards that goal. Working with Carbon Neutral Britain we have taken four key steps to join the worldwide movement of responsible businesses committed to mitigating the impacts of global warming.’
The key steps Citipost Mail have taken this year:
- A thorough carbon footprint assessment.
- Real emission reduction strategies.
- 100% Renewable Energy Adoption, and
- Offsetting of unavoidable carbon emissions.
Lesley continues, ‘Our unavoidable emissions have been offset through four Certified Emissions Reductions (CER) projects with our focus being to support the Woodland Fund portfolio here in the UK. This is a huge milestone for us but we won’t stop here. In the coming months we will continue to explore new ways to reduce our ecological footprint and enhance our environmental practices, with our end goal to become a Net Zero business. We are genuinely concerned about the impact of our practices and will work within the industry to adopt better ways of doing things as they develop.’
