Following the acquisition of Middleton Paper’s fine paper and conversion business in 2023, Denmaur has built on the longstanding reputation of the Bescot based conversion plant with investment and restructuring to launch the Reel Fast® Express Sheeting Service.

Reel Fast is a service available to customers in commercial print, publishing and packaging sectors, delivering customised sheet sizes from Denmaur’s range of sustainably certified cutter reel stock within 5 days from receipt of order.

Denmaur Fleet of LorriesCentrally located in the West Midlands for full UK coverage, the Reel Fast plant delivers mill standard quality in terms of finishing and presentation for all conversion jobs from newsprint paper weights through to high-caliper packaging boards.

Denmaur Director, Andy Buxton, explains: “The state-of-the-art conversion facility at Bescot enables us to offer customised sheet sizes over as an alternative to the off-the-shelf standard, which will reduce their costs as well as their waste and carbon emissions.”

Andy Buxton continued: “Although it’s possible to order a specified sheet size direct from the mill, average lead times can vary from 4 – 6 weeks. The Reel Fast service will ensure sheeting and delivery within 5 days from receipt of a customer’s order.”

The new service builds on Denmaur’s value added service as well as their expanding sustainability programme. So far this year, Denmaur have reached the impressive milestone of 150,000 tonnes of Carbon Balanced Paper sales – offsetting paper production emissions through the World Land Trust’s REDD+ based projects; and in June Denmaur registered it’s near term carbon reduction target with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) – a 46% reduction by 2030, with a net zero date to be confirmed by the end of this year.

Denmaur’s Marketing and Sustainability Director, Danny Doogan, commented: “Reel Fast will deliver credible cost savings and it can also quantify the waste and carbon saved over an equivalent standard sheet size – information that customers are increasingly demanding.”

The Reel Fast plant is certified to FSC, PEFC, ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards, as are the papers and boards dedicated for cutter reel stock – the same papers and boards are also stocked in standard sheet sizes for next day delivery throughout the UK.

Reel Fast will launch with stock that is FSC certified and Carbon Balanced, which when combined with an optimum sheet size for print and conversion, makes it a truly sustainable offering. Furthermore, the paper waste resulting from the sheet conversion process is automatically collected and compacted into secure containers for recycling back into paper and board industry, making the whole process waste-free and circular.
