Work is nearing completion on a £600,000 investment in solar panels at the Micropress site. This phase of solar panels have been installed on the £1 million extension connecting the paper warehouse and the main factory. The 3,034 new solar panels will generate 830,000 kWh, providing 30% of Micropress’s total power consumption. This installation is part of an ongoing sustainability programme to which Micropress is committed.

Recent investments include £100,000 in voltage optimisation, reducing total energy consumption by 7%, a biomass boiler heating the factory without the use of fossil fuels and achieving ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 accreditation.

Certified as a carbon-balanced printer with the World Land Trust, Micropress is dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint and minimising its environmental impact. They remain committed to proactively investing in renewable technologies and processes to further support their environmental initiatives, all in pursuit of a greener and more sustainable future.
