Fujifilm is redefining digital printing with its groundbreaking Revoria Press series, the EC2100S and SC285S, next-generation platforms designed to push the boundaries of quality, efficiency, and versatility. Innovation in Print, Media and Marketing spoke with Mark Lawn, Head of POD Solutions at Fujifilm Europe, to explore the inspiration behind these innovations, their impact on print service providers, and what makes Revoria Press a game-changer in the industry.

Mark Lawn, Head of POD Solutions at Fujifilm Europe, comments: “At drupa, our message was clear: take a fresh look at Fujifilm because we’ve transformed. We’re transitioning from a predominantly analogue offset business to one where digital technology is at the core. The Revoria Press series is at the heart of this transformation.”

Lawn emphasises that the goal is to empower print service providers with tools that enable them to differentiate: “Innovation should unlock the next chapter for our customers. We’re not just introducing a new press; we’re giving businesses the ability to expand their offerings, attract new customers, and optimise their production like never before.”

The Fujifilm Revoria Press series delivers high-quality prints with specialty toner options, including gold, silver, white, and pink—expanding creative possibilities for print providers worldwide.

Bringing Five-Colour Print to the Forefront

One of the most exciting aspects of the Revoria Press series is its five-colour capability, which brings speciality toner options into a segment that has traditionally been CMYK-only. “Why settle for standard four-colour printing when you can have super colour?” Mark asks. “The additional toner station allows for specialty colours like gold, silver, white, and even pink, which expands the colour gamut dramatically.”

Mark believes pink toner, in particular, will be a game-changer. “People don’t realise the impact until they see it. Pink toner enables vibrant oranges, purples, and blues that CMYK alone can’t achieve. It elevates everyday print work to something extraordinary. A printer in Germany runs a customer’s job in standard CMYK, then reprints a sample using pink toner for comparison. The results are stunning, and many customers immediately opt for the enhanced version on their next order.”

Sustainability and Efficiency at the Core

Fujifilm’s commitment to sustainability is evident in the Revoria Press series, which is designed to minimise environmental impact. Mark explains: “We use Super Eco EA Toner, which melts at a lower temperature, meaning significantly lower energy consumption. We’ve also moved to LED imaging, which is more energy-efficient than traditional laser systems. We’ve achieved outstanding de-inking results, meaning our prints are easily recyclable. This ensures that sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s built into our technology.”

Seamless Workflow Integration

Beyond the hardware, Fujifilm has invested heavily in digital workflow solutions that enhance productivity. Mark continues: “Revoria Flow and Fiery are no longer just RIPs; they’re full automation hubs. They handle colour management, job scheduling, and production optimisation with incredible efficiency.”

For businesses managing both offset and digital workflows, Fujifilm’s XMF Press Ready solution bridges the gap. “It integrates seamlessly with offset presses, allowing businesses to manage jobs across different technologies with ease. It’s about giving print providers the flexibility to work smarter, not harder.”

The Future of Revoria Press

Mark is clear about Fujifilm’s long-term commitment to innovation: “We’re not standing still. We showcased an adhesive toner at drupa that enables tear-away applications, and we’re working on a green toner that takes us closer to RGB-quality printing on a digital press. We’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.”

The rapid adoption of Revoria Press is a testament to its success. “Since May 2023, we’ve entered 26 markets, built partnerships with over 100 companies, and are approaching 1,000 press installations. And every single one of those is new business, because we started from scratch.”

The Revoria Press series represents the future of digital printing—where precision, versatility, and sustainability converge. With specialty toners, advanced workflow integration, and an eco-conscious design, Fujifilm is setting new industry standards. Mark concludes: “This is more than just a press. It’s an opportunity to stand out, win more business, and future-proof your operations. Print is evolving, and with the Revoria series, we’re not just following the trend—we’re leading it.”
