Jet Technology Group open doors to showroom in Warrington to present innovations from industry partners on Tuesday 3rd June

The event focused on short-run packaging and value-added print applications – helping businesses innovate, diversify, and boost profitability.

Steve Andrew, Managing Director of Jet Technology Group

“We’re holding this open day for two reasons – firstly, to officially open our new showroom, and secondly, to give print and graphics businesses a chance to learn more about the growth markets and new technologies available from our partners.”

Recognising the need for practical guidance in a rapidly evolving industry, Steve continues: “Myself, Andrew, Jason, Laurie – we’ve all been in the industry for many years. We wanted to share that experience and show people how they can make more money out of a flat printed sheet. The truth is, getting into short-run digital packaging and value-added print is much more affordable than many people think. From five-colour digital print, to die-cutting, gluing, and perforating machines – we’ve built a true end-to-end solution right here in the showroom.”

The event featured live demonstrations and one-on-one time with technology experts, offering attendees insight into how application-led solutions can drive productivity and profitability.

Strong partnerships

Andy Kent, General Manager of Fujifilm UK’s Graphic Communications Division, spoke about the strength of the partnership: “Over the last couple of years, we’ve expanded our digital portfolio enormously – most notably with the launch of our print-on-demand business in April 2023. We’ve built a showroom, we’ve built our sales, and we’re building partnerships. It’s wonderful to be here with Jet Tech, who we see as part of a wider ecosystem of long-term collaboration.

“We see our business as a team effort. Our technology is important, but it’s about how we work together – with our European colleagues, sales and service partners. Jet Tech fits perfectly into that picture.”

XMPie Business Development Channel Manager, Phil Gaskin echoed the collaborative spirit, showcasing a fully automated web-to-print journey – from smartphone photo capture to finished product: “Jet Tech is a fantastic company with a wealth of industry experience. For us, this is a great opportunity to learn from them and demonstrate how our software can automate, streamline, and diversify production. We’re showing an end-to-end workflow – where a customer can order a greeting card from their phone, and the system handles everything automatically, right through print and finishing.”

Meanwhile, John Fennel, Technical Sales Specialist, Fiery, demonstrated the expanded colour gamut possible with Fujifilm’s new EC 2100 and 285 digital presses, powered by Fiery’s pink toner technology. “From a digital point of view, we can now achieve colours that were traditionally hard to print – oranges, yellows, and reds. That means print businesses can produce more vivid brochures and fine artwork, adding real value for their clients. It’s a win-win.”

Supporting growth

For Jet Technology Group, the showroom is about more than just machinery – it’s about making print businesses more competitive and customer-focused. Steve continues: “The whole reason we started this was to become a company that delivers excellence. We want everyone who works with us or buys from us to feel looked after. And when we combine our team’s knowledge with Fujifilm’s service delivery, we’ve got a powerful overall package to offer.”

Having worked in roles ranging from service engineering to print company ownership, the Jet Technology Group leadership team knows firsthand the challenges printers face. Steve adds: “Print, especially cut-sheet, has become commoditised. To stand out, you have to look at what customers really want – how you can help them promote their businesses more effectively. Over the last nine months, we’ve seen huge success in short-run digital packaging – things like digitally die-cut boxes, cartons, foil-blocked finishes, and personalisation. That’s where the opportunity lies.”

The open day made one thing clear: Jet Technology Group and its partners are committed to helping printers evolve, stand out, and grow – by connecting innovation with practical, real-world applications.
