Demonstrated at Duplo’s Celebration of Print event back in May, but officially hitting the market today, Duplo’s DC-20K B2 Cutter Creaser System brings Duplo’s multi-finishing and cutting expertise to the B2 format.
Easy to use and fully automated, the DC-20K cutting system follows Duplo’s ‘load it and leave’ approach by removing the bottleneck to production and physical effort required when relying on a guillotine to finish printed sheets.
The automated and intelligent system has been developed to allow printers to profitably manage small, short-run jobs, jobs requiring multiple cuts and jobs requiring complex finishing such as creasing and perforating. Multiple jobs can be printed on the same sheet and finished in one pass, meaning that the utilisation of the sheet can be 100% even with multiple different formats on the same sheet.
The system is comprised of a high volume B2 sized feeder and slitter, bridging unit to feed into the multi finisher, our top of the range DC-746 slitter, cutter, creaser, and delivery table. Combined, the system can turn a multitude of B2 sized sheets into many different products ready to be packed and delivered to customers. It brings Duplo’s world renowned finishing automation to the B2 format.
Successfully beta tested by Imaging Centre, in Kent, they purchased the first production unit in the world which was installed at the end of September. Due to the production efficiencies and how much work was processed through the system. Saving time during the production process but also the reduction of waste and maximising the area of the sheet meant that during extremely busy periods, The Imaging Centre had minimised their finishing bottle neck significantly.
