Eight Group recognise the importance of taking actionable steps to combat climate change and are dedicated to minimising their carbon footprint through responsible practices and innovations.

“Eight Days A Week Print Solutions has been certified carbon neutral since 2021 which was in partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain. As our business has evolved into Eight Group, now incorporating a much wider and diverse offering via four key business units, we have taken time to evaluate some of our partnerships and alignments.

As a fellow IPIA member, it made a lot of sense to switch to Carbon Balanced Paper and World Land Trust to ensure we have a fuller measurement of our carbon footprint covering paper and print, plus our other emissions which we are working hard to reduce, ongoing. In essence it was a no-brainer following building a good relationship with Paul Opie who knows our business well.”

“We are thrilled that Eight Group has joined the Carbon Balanced Print and Paper programme and community,” said Paul Opie, Partnership Director of CarbonCo. “Their commitment to sustainability is embedded as a pillar of their business, which makes a measurable difference as we transition to a low-carbon economy. We really look forward to continuing to support them on their carbon reduction journey.”

Carbon Balanced Print and Paper works with the international environmental charity World Land Trust, which uses funds raised through the scheme to protect and restore some of the most threatened and biodiverse-rich areas of forestry in the world. With specific carbon projects in Mexico, Uganda and Guatemala, Carbon Balanced Print and Paper provides funds that protect these habitats and the wildlife within them, while preventing the release of CO2e into the atmosphere through deforestation and forest degradation as well as sequestering carbon from reforestation and regeneration work.

As part of the Carbon Balanced Print and Paper scheme, companies can use the highly trusted and recognised World Land Trust logo on their print and paper to communicate their support and corporate responsibility. The total amount of CO2e balanced and land area preserved and protected is also recorded on a unique certificate, which can be used for environmental reporting and marketing purposes.
