The IPIA, as a trade body, is eligible to be the representative to work on behalf of a group of employers. This means that IPIA members could take advantage of the Kickstart Scheme to employ a person on universal credit and at risk of long-term unemployment – we just need to get a minimum of 30 job placements across the membership.
It’s a job placement scheme for a 6 month period
Funding is available for 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week. The scheme also covers NI contributions, plus £1,500 per job placement to cover set-up costs, training etc.
The job placements must:
– Be new jobs, they must not replace existing or planned vacancies or cause other employees or contractors to lose their employment
– Be a minimum of 25 hours per week, for 6 months, paid at least the National Minimum Wage for their age group
– Employ someone between the ages of 16-24
The scheme could be great for apprenticeships or simply filling a newly created role for the longer term.
