Your Print Specialists (YPS) are collaborating with their favourite, award winning designer, Beth Travers, owner of BOBO1325. Founded in 2017, BOBO1325 is a design studio which specialises in the interior market, predominantly contract interiors for hospitality. Her instantly recognisable design style won the FESPA 2020 Gold Award in the Printeriors category for her interior print design work with Leila Lily’s Bar and Restaurant, Newcastle. More recently Beth also won the Designer | Maker category at the Northern Design Awards for her work with Qbic hotel chain.

YPS originally reached out to Beth in early 2020 to discuss collaborating on a project for Sign&DigitalUK, however due to COVID-19 the show that year was postponed and subsequently so was their project with BOBO1325. YPS currently work with Beth within their Your Print Institute(YPI). The new year will see Travers sharing her expertise by hosting her own course at YPI incorporating design and print for textiles using Epson dye sublimation printers.
Following the launch of Epson desktop dye sublimation printers, YPS provided Beth with an Epson SureColor SC-F500 printer and PixMax heat press, allowing her to see her projects come to life on textiles and ceramics in her Manchester studio.
Since receiving her Epson, Beth has come to familiarise herself with dye sublimation and is using it to benefit her design process and therefore changing her relationship with print. Previously Beth would create her designs and would need to wait for the samples to arrive to check scale and colour. Beth comments, “Using the Epson printer within the design process has become integral, it’s such a great tool to have just at my disposal.” With her SC-F500, Beth can hold her designs in her hand and see the colours printed on a range of substrates within moments. This allows her to make any necessary changes immediately. Travers continues, “It’s all just down to the Epson kit that really aids design and really aids creatives”
YPS travelled to Beth’s studio where she demonstrated how she uses the Epson and how it helps her clients visualise her designs both when printed. “Having the Epson SureColor SC-F500 in my studio is really helpful for when I have clients coming in and I need to create tactile boards and samples for them. For instance if they’re talking about glassware or they’re talking about tiles I can have ceramics done and I can have tiles done and they can see the product and how it’s going to look.” says Beth.
Keen to inspire other designers, Beth kindly agreed to share her thoughts on her Epson SC-F500 and show how she uses the printer to inform her designs. The result is a new YPS promotional video showcasing BOBO1325 and the Epson SureColor SC-F500.
